The VELUX GNL 1064 wooden roof window allows even price-conscious customers to install an original VELUX top-hung/pivoting roof window with 3-pane insulating glazing, ensuring they do not have to miss out on the proven quality of the leading roof window manufacturer for decades. In terms of price-performance ratio, the affordable VELUX GNL roof window is unbeatable. The original VELUX GNL top-hung/pivoting window is made of wood.

This allows for the installation of roof windows even in rooms with higher humidity, such as bathrooms and kitchens. Likewise, it is suitable for installation in rooms where easy-care, white roof windows are preferred. The GNL roof window combines all the advantages of standard pivoting windows.
The GNL top-hung/pivoting window is equipped with an ergonomic handle at the bottom, which allows for a continuous opening of the sash up to a 45° angle. At the top, the GNL is equipped with the proven and comfortable control bar, through which the roof window can be opened in the pivot position. Opening it as a top-hung window allows you to lean out comfortably and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view, while the pivoting option allows for a 180° rotation into the cleaning position. Additionally, the proven background ventilation is integrated into the upper control bar. The unique, integrated ventilation flap allows for dust- and insect-free ventilation even when the roof window is closed. It is very suitable for rainy days and for ensuring a permanent, healthy indoor climate, allowing for an air exchange without opening the window.

VELUX ThermoTechnology™
The new generation of VELUX GNL windows relies on innovative materials and advanced technologies to provide more comfort, better energy efficiency, and lower heating costs. With ThermoTechnology™, you benefit from windows that optimally protect against heat loss and improve airtightness by one class compared to the previous generation – from 3 to 4. This improvement leads to a significantly higher insulation effect, which reduces energy consumption and increases comfort in your home.

A crucial part of ThermoTechnology™ is the use of thermally modified wood in the frames and sashes of the windows. This process, in which the wood is heated to over 175 °C, reduces the moisture in the wood by up to 50%, making the material more stable and insulating. This process replaces chemical treatment and makes the wood more resistant to aging and moisture. The result is a durable, resilient material that has properties similar to cedar wood.
The combination of thermally treated wood ensures excellent thermal insulation and protects against moisture, wind, and weather influences. This new technology not only contributes to reducing your heating costs but also improves the energy efficiency and comfort in your attic. Look for the ThermoTechnology™ seal on VELUX products – it guarantees you outstanding thermal insulation that ensures a better quality of life.
Glazing
Triple glazing with Uw = 1.0 W/m²k, sound insulation up to 35dB, anti-dew effect, minimization of rain noise, and natural cleaning effect.
Note: No laminated safety glass inside; please check your installation situation.

Flashing
VELUX Flashing: Do I really need it?
The flashing is an indispensable element for the proper installation of a roof window into the roof surface. It channels rain and meltwater around the window and also protects it from the wind. Only with the help of a flashing can an absolutely tight connection between the roof window and the roof be guaranteed.
Additionally, thanks to the universal installation bracket, you have the choice between two different installation levels: standard and recessed installation.

VELUX Flashing: Standard or Recessed Installation?
In a recessed installation, the window sits 40 mm deeper in the roof. This further improves the window's excellent thermal insulation properties. This also leads to an even more harmonious look in the roof. To ensure the maximum probability that the declared energy efficiency is achieved, we recommend installing the roof window with flashing for recessed installation. Combined with the installation of the BDX 2000F insulation and connection set, this variant offers further opportunities for energy savings.
